Teresa Saldivar was born and raised in Santa Ana. She is a graduate of Santa Ana College and attended California State University, Long Beach. In 1985, after ten years of working in the jewelry industry, Teresa realized her childhood dream of owning her own business, making her the first Latina gemologist to own a jewelry store in California. After 20 years, she continues to own and operate a profitable business in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana. Her success has also benefited others and she has set forth to make a difference in her community. She is the past President of the Downtown Santa Ana Business Council. In addition, Ms. Saldivar has served on the board of Western Medical Center, Greater Santa Ana Business Alliance, and Orange County Hispanic of Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she is the President-Elect of the California Jewelers Association and serves on the advisory committee for Rancho Santiago Community College District. Ms. Saldivar has received several recognitions including Small Business of the Year Awards from Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Santa Ana Business Alliance.
