Barbara Cooper has been a Career Specialist for the Special Education/WorkAbility Program for more than 15 years Santa Ana. WorkAbility is a training program for special education ages 14-22. Ms. Cooper promotes work career awareness and exploration for students to have great chance to complete their secondary education program. She provides students with opportunities that include job shadowing, paid and non-paid work experience, and ongoing support and guidance. Aside from working locally with the WorkAbility Program, she is heavily involved at the state level. She is a member of the WorkAbility State and Regional Training Committee, Family Transition Network Committee, and a WorkAbility Mentor. Ms. Cooper received Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Dayton in Ohio. Additionally, she holds two Standard Teaching Credentials in the elementary and secondary areas. She is proud to be a member of the Santa Ana Educator’s Association (SAEA) and the California Association of Vocational Educators of Special Needs Personnel (CAVESNP). The Workforce Investment Board approved her Youth Council recommendation back in the year 2000.
