Our Board | Youth Council | Jorge Martinez

Jorge Martinez joined the City of Santa Ana Youth Council to give back to his community. As a Youth Council member, his primary focus is to reach out to the Santa Ana youth and let them know of the numerous resources the City of Santa Ana has to offer. Jorge knows that a variety of resources can keep youth out of trouble by either assisting the youth get jobs, finding them volunteer opportunities at a local agency, or helping them enroll at an area college. He feels that there is a great opportunity to promote mentorship programs around the City of Santa Ana. As a Youth Council member, he wants to see more one-on-one help for youth. Jorge has a strong family background – both his mother and father encouraged and desired the best for him. His has two educational goals in mind: one, to get an internship where he can work with youth and become not only a mentor but also a role model; two, to earn Associate of Arts Degree from Santa Ana College and transfer to California State University, Fullerton where he plans to major in psychology. His recent personal accomplishment includes President of Leadership Council for the Orange County Conservation Corps.
